Vries: a lively brink village
Vries, a charming brink village in the heart of Drenthe, offers visitors a warm welcome and a dip into the rich history of the Drenthe countryside. This idyllic village is known for its authentic brink, the characteristic green village meadow, where cattle used to graze and social life took place. Surrounded by beautiful Saxon farms and monumental buildings, Vries still exudes the atmosphere of the past, making it the perfect destination for a relaxing day out.
In this lively brink village, Volksvermaken Vries organizes dozens of events for young and old every year. And not only around Easter, Koningsdag, Sinterklaas or Christmas. All year round there is something going on in Vries. For example, there is an annual garage and barn sale 'Taofel in Tuune' where residents of Vries sell second-hand items and handmade items from their gardens. Music also plays a big role in the village. For example, an annual Pond Festival is organized where various artists perform on stages at four ponds in the village. Another concept is 'Vries draait door' a cozy, musical evening where a decade is spotlighted each time. In the agenda on the site of Volksvermaken Vries you can see exactly which event is planned. And after a day full of adventure, return to the peace and quiet of our nature campsite to fully relax.
Excellent camping
4x a day toilets are checked and kept up if necessary. Artificial grass in front of the caravan. 10 ampere electricity. Pay separately. For 7 days with ebike we lost 14,40. Friendly staff. Beautiful living room where you can sit when it is cold. In short, a campsite to recommend.

TOP campsite
Fine campsite. Spacious pitches (also with private sanitary facilities) Ideal campsite for families with (young) children but also for e.g. senior citizens. Various rental possibilities. Been a guest on a pitch with private sanitary facilities for years. Involvement and friendliness of staff is TOP. Pity that adjacent catering establishments (not part of the campsite) have poor opening hours, but fortunately there are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. De Berken: a must

Lovely cottage on quiet child-friendly campsite
2 pers Cottage is small and fine, complete and very tastefully furnished in a quiet camping corner. Excellent beds and good seats. Very customer-oriented staff and beautiful walking and cycling surroundings.

Fun for children
We were at De Berken for a few days. A nice campsite for children up to 11 years old. With nice outdoor playgrounds and an indoor playground. The indoor playtime is really fun for children up to around 11. Furthermore, the sanitary facilities are very clean. The staff and recreation super nice. For children who like horses, there is a riding school nearby. There they make nice forest rides and is nice staff. I would definitely recommend the campsite if you have small children.
